Dean Hughes
Senior Pastor
Pastor Dean came to East Side in July, 2009. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education in 1985 from Baptist Bible College, and a Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling in 2000 from Baptist Bible Graduate School of Theology. Pastor Dean has been in full time ministry since 1985. Pastor Dean currently serves as treasurer for the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, and has served as president of the Kansas Baptist Bible Fellowship, as well as a vice-president of the Baptist Bible College Alumni Association. Pastor Dean is married to Elaine, and they are blessed with two adult children, Haley & Cameron, and daughter-in-law, Jailyn.
Alex Gobel
Associate Pastor/Student Ministries
Alex and Savannah Gobel are native Kansans who grew up in the Wichita area. They each surrendered to the ministry independently, which led to them meeting at Baptist Bible College. Alex graduated from Baptist Bible College in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Intercultural Studies, and an Associate's Degree in Church Music. They have served in churches in Kansas and Oklahoma prior to coming to East Side in 2024. Alex and Savannah are the parents of 4 children: Evie, Dean, and twin sons Evan and Tate.
Valerie Kampfer
Office Administrator
Valerie has served as office administrator since 2022. She is married to Ron, and is a tremendous blessing to all!
