Happy Wednesday to you!  It's still summer, isn't it?  But with summer comes many great blessings--including the report that 3 of our teens have accepted Christ so far at Junior High Camp!  Continue to pray for our campers and counselors--that God will continue to do a great work, and for safe travel home on Thursday.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

--Tonight, we will have our student ministries, KidzSummer program, and adult Bible study at 7.  The adults will finish their study with David Jeremiah, "Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World".  Next week, we will begin a study of Ecclesiastes entitled, "Enjoy Life".

--SUNDAY AM:  we will continue our series "I Am Jonah", focusing on "The God of the Second Chance".

--SUNDAY PM:  we continue "Unveiling the Future", as we look at the events that lead up to Armageddon.

--SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS:  we have a meeting this Sunday at 5  in the Pathfinders classroom.

--AWANA VOLUNTEERS:  there is a meeting for you Sunday, August 8 at 5 p.m.  If you know what area of AWANA you plan to volunteer in, or are interested in, please contact Darrell or Barbie Cox ASAP.  AWANA begins August 15 at 5:45 p.m.

--"SURVIVOR" Sunday School campaign begins August 15 as well!  Don't miss a single Sunday between now and September 12, and invite friends to come--especially for Friend Day, which is September 12.

--KU CHAIR INSTALLATION--Saturday, August 28.  We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to have as many come as possible!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

--Pray for the Badgett family in Alabama.  Ken was killed in a motorcycle accident last week.  Ken is Carol Gates' granddaughter's father-in-law.

--Pray for the Ty Valentine family. Ty's mom passed away early this morning.  Ty is a good friend of mine from high school.

I like this quote that came in the new issue of the Baptist Bible Tribune this morning, "We should not fear failure; we should fear succeeding at something in life that doesn't really matter."  Think about it--what are the things in life that you are striving for that will make an eternal difference?

Wishing you God's best,

Pastor Dean

Verse of the Day

John 1:12-13
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
